Progeny’s Special Selection Reserve (S.S.R.) presents a stunning expression of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Our tenth vintage remained in small French oak barrels for 24 months in and then 12 months in a large oak tank to marry the flavors. We then kept the wine for 36 months of bottle aging before release. This wine captures the prime essence of the Mt. Veeder appellation by demonstrating extreme longevity.
The S.S.R. showcases a very deep red color, with an opaque center and strong purple hue. On the palate, the wine features intense black currants, ripe mission figs, laced with graphite, dark chocolate and a hint of leather. We find the great complexity and balance with a texture that simultaneously exhibits power but finishes with silky tannins will delight you. We believe you may age this wine in your cellar for another 20+ years.
