Progeny’s Special Selection Reserve (S.S.R.) is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Our seventh vintage was aged 32 months in French oak followed by 36 months aging in bottle before release. This wine captures the prime essence of the Mt. Veeder appellation by demonstrating its aging capability.
Showcasing a dark garnet, opaque center with vibrant purple hue, aromas of fragrant dried Tartarian cherry open to a bouquet of violets, cedar box, chocolate and caramel. On the palate it features lush red and black fruit compote, elephant heart plum laced with caramel and a hint of toffee. This is a wine of great complexity and impeccable balance with full bodied texture that is dense, rich and silky. Though gorgeous now, this wine will age gracefully in the cellar for another 20+ years.
