This dense and dramatic cuvée is aged for 22 months in French oak and 24 months in bottle to tame the Mt. Veeder tannins. Displaying a dark inky black color, with a purple hue and an opaque center. Enticing aromas of mixed blue fruits, light roasted coffee beans, smoky caramel notes, tabaco and berry compote. Flavors of wild huckleberry, baked fruits, dark milk chocolate and graphite integrate smoothly within the wine. Finishing with a soft presence of raspberry preserves, this complex, yet balanced wine lingers on the palate with rounded tannins.
