2017 special selection reserve cabernet sauvignon 

Progeny’s Special Selection Reserve (S.S.R.) presents a luscious expression of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Our 11th vintage remained in French oak for 32 months, followed by 36 months of bottle aging before release.

Showcasing a dark red purple with an opaque center, deep and fragrant aromas of wild black fruits, lavender, crushed rocks, baked plums, and cedar pull you into the glass. On the palate, you’ll find flavors of mission fig laced with violet undertones and toasted vanilla bean. This wine is dense, rich, and enormously concentrated, mixing power and elegance. We believe you may age this wine in your cellar for another 20+ years.

2019 Mt. Veeder Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2019 cuvée rested 22 months in French oak and 24 months in bottle, reflecting Progeny’s approach to extended aging prior to release for all our wines. The dark purple color, with an opaque center, foretells a wine of enticing aromas: powerfully aromatic boysenberry, rose petal, dark-roast coffee beans, and cassis. Flavors of mixed berry compote, black cherry and graphite integrate smoothly with great length and silky tannins.    

2014 SPECIAL SELECTION RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 

This wine showcases a dark ruby red, mostly opaque center with a vibrant red hue. Aromas of dense black fruits and oiled leather open to a bouquet of caramelized brown sugar, mocha, and dried mission fig. On the palate, the S.S.R. features succulent black and blue fruit compote, currants, dried tobacco leaf, and earth layers. Elegant and complex with a broad texture, high tension, and bold tannins, the S.S.R. will provide years of dining pleasure – particularly with bold dishes featuring beef, lamb, or salmon. This wine exhibits impeccable balance. Though gorgeous now, this wine will age gracefully in the cellar for another 20+ years.

2014 MT. VEEDER RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This dense and dramatic cuvée is aged for 22 months in French oak and 24 months in bottle to tame the Mt. Veeder tannins. The wine displays a dark inky black color, with a purple hue and an opaque center with enticing aromas of mixed blue fruits, light roasted coffee beans, smoky caramel notes, tabaco and berry compote. Flavors of wild huckleberry, baked fruits, dark milk chocolate and graphite integrate smoothly within the wine. Finishing with a soft presence of raspberry preserves, this complex, yet balanced wine lingers on the palate with rounded tannins.
