Progeny’s Special Selection Reserve (S.S.R.) presents a luscious expression of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Our ninth vintage remained in French oak for 32 months, followed by 36 months of bottle aging before release. We feel our flagship cuvee captures the prime essence of the Mt. Veeder appellation by demonstrating its capability of extreme longevity.
Showcasing a dark purple red with ruby hue and vibrant clarity, aromas of fragrant dried cranberries and black fruit open to a bouquet of violets, coco powder, graphite, and savory herbs de Provence. On the palate the S.S.R. features an intense red and black fruit compote, dried fig, laced with dark brandied black cherry and a hint of baking spices. This wine presents great complexity and balance with a texture that simultaneously exhibits power but finishes with silky tannins. We believe you may age this wine in your cellar for another 20+ years.
